David K asked: I would love to learn things such as Eastern herbs, Western herbs, botany, holistic medicines, homeopathy, etc. I talked to a guy in town who specializes in all of the following, but after talking to him and asking how do I learn, he told me that he went to a place called Clayton School of Holistic Health. I looked the place up and seemed to be a real good place to study, however, I also found a review online that said that the place was not only a joke, but was not properly accredited and was also far too high for the amount of info they give you.
And with that being the guys only means of knowledge, I am a hell of alot more skeptical of going back to the guy in the future. I looked around where I live and even at the community colleges around me, and there is nothing for any of the following. Well there is botany, but the only way to take it is through an associates degree and my job doesnt allow me any other way of learning except for distance learning.
Any help from anyone who has studied this, or is a practioner, any advice I would appreciate. Please nothing on how I cant teach myself by going online, I can teach myself, and I also know that it wont get me in the door as an expert at any places, but I know I’ll atleast learn the basics.
Any help would be very appreciated, any online schools, books, dvds, websites, anything where I can learn alot. Also, if I dont go through a school, is there a way to get a license or a certification, kind of like how you can take a test to become a licensed pharmacy tech. Thanks.

I am only 19 and I have no idea what I want to do with my life, I used to want to be a midwife but I dont now. I definitely dont want an office or shop job.
I am very creative, bit of hippy, into holistic, aromatherapy, homeopathy, gardening, agriculture etc but dont want to do any of these things.
I want a job thats going to be exciting, not same-y, and to be honest quite well paid!
I have 12 GCSE’s ranging from A-C so I think I can pretty much o anything.
For the past few years I have being traveling around the world but thinking I really need and want to get doing something career wise!
What I meant by ‘doing pretty much anything’ is that I will have no problem getting into college/onto courses.

davidtordine asked:
Is it Western conventional ? or Holistic? Natural Medicine? Acupuncture ? Chiropractic ? Homeopathy ? Herb? Vitamins ? To maintain mental and physical well being ? and when you get allergy, virus, and flue ?? I would think like Cancer, you would want to go see a Conventional doctor,…I have heard in th beginning, it was Eastern / Chinese / Indian Natural medicine was common, however, ever since FDA came along, it changed the Nation’s entire BUSINESS practice by pushing DRUG company to make billions of $$$, and Western Doctor just give you diagnose and prescribe drugs….I heard its a money making scan? I am afraid who to trust and what really is IS the best treatment / approach for general health concern ??? What do YOU personally do about YOUR personal need ? Please share your thoughts, and experiences. Thanks.
You know, it is depend on WHERE you live and WHICH doctor (WESTERN) you go, you can LIVE OR DIE. This is also very scary, but all they gonna say is…SORRY. IN the end patient and their family and friends loose loved ones, no going back one he / she is dead due to ONE doctor basically get paid go home.

Indi asked: I want to teach in Nanjing in the Spring, and I love what I have learned about the city so far. But I have severe chemical allergies due to a compromised immune system. This is a type II allergy known as multiple chemical sensitivity or environmental illness; my body just does not deal well with environmental toxins. I am already on a great protocol of detox vitamins and herbs; chiropractic; homeopathy; and good overall natural, holistic or integrative health care that helps me deal with the pollution here in New York City.
How do people cope with the pollution in Nanjing? How do they prevent illness? Are there alternative health care practitioners there?
Dear Extra_Mile:
Thanks for the information, but please do not assume that I am naive. Far from it, which is why I posted this question. Ironically, the health care system here in the U.S. is also not all it is cracked up to be, which is why I asked for information on naturalistic, alternative, or integrative health care practitioners. I have had this condition for ab. nine years. Trust me, I do not need to be told to take care of myself. Still, thank you for the info. and for your concern.

SHRIKANT B asked: Dr. Jindal Dean, Goa Medical college said on Sunday June 28, 2009 that, Now traditionally you always starts with merits of system I will do it reverse I will start with weaknesses of our system, that is modern system we call it or a system of Allopathy, first of all I must confess that the biggest weakness of Allopathy is as side effects of medicines, while most of our traditional indigenous system of medicine and Dr.Kothe is there he will agree with that the homeopathy system will not do any harm if not good, but Allopathy can do harm instead of doing the good, reason for that is unlike homeopathy, Ayurveda etc most of our medicines are synthetic medicines, they are not from the plant region or not the herbal medicines, so why they are very strong they can take care of many problems but at the same practically I must say each medicine have got inherent side effects so you are practically way between the benefits and the side effects, so that is one of the weaknesses of our system that is Allopathy.
Second problem with our system of Allopathy is unlike Homeopathy unlike Ayurveda we never had a holistic approach to the disease what we had to do is if patient comes to us with throat infection we use to treat his throat infection, if come to pain in a knee we use to treat his knee pain, we use to take a patient as a whole, of course of late the things have started changing, we have learnt from Homeapathy we have learnt from Ayurveda that the holistic approach have brought lots of benefits and slowly we are moving towards the holistic approach in Allopathy also.
Third think the weakness of Allopathy is that we have a so much obsessed in treating the people from the disease that we over looked the positive aspect of health , of course of late again now we are putting lot of stress on nutrition on mental health and other thing which is still recently we never gave importance.
Last thing which I fill is very big set back of our system of medicine is that it is very expensive. It is very very expensive as compare to all other systems medicine, so in our country I think that is a big weakness of our system.
But having said thet having numerated weaknesses of system of medicine, we do have many merits, we do have many strong points and that is evidence of mushrooming medical colleges, mushrooming hospitals and clinics. So what are the strong points let me take few minutes to enumerate what are the strong points of our system of medicine.

oneafter99 asked:
I just went to see my Chiropractic doctor who started to treat me for various health problems (Allergy, Sinus infection, Yeast Infection) using Homeopathy and whole food diet pills. I was amazed how he would touch certain pressure point while I hold different homeopathy or Pills in one hand while he did the muscles test to see how I respond and selected which combination of pills I need. He was even able to diagnose what was going on my body. I was/am very skeptical and how reliable/accurate these testing are, and how exactly work and why. Can anyone please explain to me? I am so used to going to a conventional doctor who does blood work, or check my symptom by examining me, and prescribe me a medication….but I wanted to try holistic approach, and found this Chiropractor by referral.

Dustin B asked: I have been doing a little research on the raw food or “prey” and b.a.r.f. diets to determine if they would be right for my dog, Largely the idea seems very reasonable and I have heard good things but somethings I have been reading have me concerned, surprisingly there things I have been reading on pro raw food diet websites.
They seem largely to fall in with a lot of pseudo science and new agey crap for one thing I found a bunch that were babbling conspiracy theories about vaccination and they were stringently ant-vaccination both for pets and humans and they made lots of ridicules unsupported claims lot’s of which involved and depended on “toxins” which is predominantly just new age babble. Furthermore I found a couple that suggested homeopathy as an alternative to vet care, which is a huge red flag to me as homeopathy is complete and utter garbage, for those unfamiliar read up http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homeopathy. Basically homeopathy says anything that causes symptoms of a particular disease cures that disease if strongly diluted and the more it’s diluted the stronger it becomes. Furthermore every single homeopathic medicine is diluted so much it’s indistinguishable from tap water. It’s complete nonsense the only effect it has in people is the placebo effect and that won’t work on dogs so the idea that raw food supporters also advocate this useless baseless treatment as an alternative to proper vet care is very disturbing to me.
So I was wondering is there any raw food supporters who still vaccinate and take there dogs to real vets or is the whole raw food thing just, as one pro-raw food website described it “an extension of the holistic lifestyle for our pets” and just based on the same pseudo science and half baked ideas and conspiracy theory’s of most “holistic” medicines and treatments or is it genuinely supported and beneficial? Is there any actual evidence for or against the diet if you have some can you please provide the source or the links to it?
this is not an attack I’m genuinely trying to look out for the best interest of my dog and the raw food diet on it’s face seemed very reasonable and it made sense to me that it could possibly be beneficial but seeing some of the other things that are clearly nonsense these people advocate has me concerned that this may be as well. So again if you have any sources for or against could you please provide a link or site where you obtained the information. Thanks to whoever took the time to read this and a big thanks to everyone who takes the time to respond, pro or con.

Joe Bob asked: this is refering to the freemasonic suppression of homeopathy. this is refering to the freemasonic medical butchers of great britian that spread into france and throughout the world. knowing the sacreligeous implications of most “modern” medical practices!
cutting open a human body is against god!
it serves no purpose. The chakra/meridian point regulate the body mind and spirit. Cutting it, is offensive to this world and the next!
does anyone in the holistic field of medicine understand this, and understand the role of freemasonry in what is known as “the medical mafia”
ill give you a challenge: you tell me what actually is the cause of appendicitis, and you tell me what the cause is of gravity, and publicly announce this to masons and non-masons alike, and recognize this in the medical field, and i will give you my respect for freemasonry and western Newtonian medicine….
